Volunteering tasks

  • Weeding – Weeds are smothering our native plants and destroying our native landscapes. Invasive weeds are destroying our native plant communities.
  • Clearing rubbish from forests and streams – Rubbish can harm our land, soil, water, and wildlife. It is a tremendous task for any one individual to do, but collectively it’s not so overwhelming to rejuvenate our natural spaces.
  • Planting native trees (May – September) – Trees play a central role in combating climate change by sequestering carbon dioxide, supporting biodiversity, managing water cycles and providing aesthetic value – it always feels good to being amongst the trees!
  • Monitoring and trapping or baiting pests – In alignment with Predator Free 2050, we aim to eradicate pest such as rats and possums. These species inflict the severe damage on New Zealand’s wildlife.
